Here are the core skills they should have:1. Strategic Thinking & Business AcumenAbility to align marketing initiatives with business goals.Understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.Strong problem-solving skills to optimize marketing impact.2. Data Analysis & Performance MeasurementProficiency in marketing analytics tools (Google Analytics, Tableau, Power BI).Experience with attribution models, KPIs, and ROI measurement.Ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.3. Customer Journey & Value MappingExpertise in mapping the customer journey and identifying key touchpoints.Ability to articulate how marketing efforts create value at each stage.Knowledge of customer segmentation and behavioral analysis.4. Communication & StorytellingStrong presentation skills to convey marketing value to stakeholders.Ability to translate data into compelling narratives for executives and teams.Proficiency in report writing and visualization of marketing impact.5. Cross-Functional CollaborationAbility to work with sales, finance, product, and customer success teams.Experience aligning marketing strategies with revenue and growth objectives.Strong negotiation skills to advocate for marketing’s contribution.6. Digital Marketing & MarTech ProficiencyUnderstanding of digital marketing channels (SEO, PPC, content, social).Experience with CRM and marketing automation tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo).Knowledge of AI-driven marketing and personalization technologies.7. Budgeting & Financial AcumenExperience in marketing budget allocation and optimization.Understanding of cost-per-acquisition (CPA), customer lifetime value (CLV), and profitability metrics.8.
